How Does Your Garden Grow, Part 2

We planted our garden last weekend. Saturday, sunflowers, sweet peas, carrots, onions, lettuce, and peas were planted from seed. The head gardener, wanting as close to instant gratification as you can get with a garden, went out with junior gardener Brynne on Sunday to purchase radish seeds, which can germinate in a week. Brynne and Daddy planted them Sunday afternoon, and after lots of watering and even some rain, tonight we were treated with not only radish sprouts, but sunflowers and peas as well. The best crop so far, however, has been the weeds.

The garden, complete with ladybug scarecrow to keep varmits away. The back two rows have been planted, while the front two will be used for peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash:

Go radishes, go!

If you think the soil in any of the above pictures looks rocky,
you should see the rock pile we have accumulated!
