Friday Night Fun

Our idea of a thrilling Friday night was to head up to Kingston for some dinner (Applebees... it was actually GOOD)... though it was technically afternoon when we got there. I think we could qualify for the "early bird specials" most times. We then went across the parking lot to Barnes and Noble to attend a book signing by bestselling author Laura Numeroff. She wrote If You Give a Pig a Pancake as well as other books in that series. We picked up her newest book, If You Give a Cat a Cupcake, and had it (and another book) personalized and autographed. It was really crowded at the store but it was managed exceptionally well and it certainly didn't feel like there were over 200 people. We waited in the children's section before lining up to get the books signed. We read some books with the girls, played with the trains, and made a whole mental list of everything Santa would be bringing this year (Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems is a prime choice). I'm not sure if the girls appreciated going, but I know I did and I'm happy that the girls now have a special treasure to add to their bookshelves.

Our plans for the rest of the weekend are to attend an Apple Fest on Huguenot Street tomorrow and Girl Scout sign ups on Sunday. I promise to have photos from the Apple Fest!
